Ilyasova to play for Turkey

News: Bucks forward Ersan Ilyasova¬†told Fox Sports that he will take a few months to rest his ailing wrist before heading over seas to play in the European Championships in Turkey. Ilyasova, who hurt his wrist late in the regular season, admitted that his injury really hampered his production during Milwaukee’s first-round playoff loss to the Heat. He averaged 11.3 points and 7.8 rebounds in Miami’s four-game sweep of the Bucks.

Analysis: Ilyasova received a ton of hype last offseason as most were expecting big things from the 25-year-old in the 2012-13. However, he got off to a dreadful start as he averaged just 11.2 points and 6.2 rebounds over his first 49 games and was even moved back to the bench during that stretch. Luckily for Fantasy owners, Ilyasova was able to turn things around in the second half as put up 17.2 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists over his last 24 games on 48.7 percent shooting from the field and 44.9 percent from behind the arc. Ilyasova is one of the few Bucks who won’t be a free agent this summer, so Fantasy owners should plan on targeting him in the mid-to-late rounds of most formats next year, assuming he is healthy.
